I finished another audiobook, this time by Brandon Sanderson. I found Th Final Empire while I was browsing Reddit and on a subreddit called data is beautiful. However, it has since been removed, I downloaded it beforehand:

The Final Empire is a fantasy novel (click here for recommendations for the genre) that follows Vin, a sixteen-year-old Skaa (lower class of human) who has an ability called luck which can sway people. It is set in a world where swords and shields are used in war. The empire is ruled over by the “Lord Ruler”, there are the noblemen, and below them are the Skaa.
Vin runs into Kelsier, a Mistborn who is a person who can use pure metals to do special abilities, such as sway people’s minds or gain strength. Kelsier convinces Vin and other Mistings (Mistings: Can only use one ability) to stage the ultimate heist, to take on the “Lord Ruler” and end the tyrannic rule of the First Empire.
When you’re alone, no one can betray you
Vin has trouble trusting people, ever since her brother Rin left her. His teahings also compounded thVin has trouble trusting people, ever since her brother Rin left her. His teachings also compounded this fact. She survived by sticking to a thieves gang of Skaa.
She is very quiet at first, but once she starts to open up to more people, she makes friends. On more than one occasion, she thinks of others and risks her own life however, She doesn’t trust those around her, wanting to know if they are keeping secrets from her.
“You should try not to talk so much, friend,” he suggested. “You’ll sound far less stupid that way.”
Kelsier
This has been the easiest audiobook I have listened to so far, by that I mean I’ve struggled to stop The First Empire has been the easiest audiobook I have listened to so far, by that I mean I’ve struggled to stop listening to it. The narrator, Michael Kramer, puts on a brilliant performance he makes it easy to differentiate between the multitude of characters.
I will read the rest of the series with haste, possibly the other books in that universe. If you are looking for a fantasy read where the dark lord has already won, this is a perfect read, almost like if Lord Voldemort or Sauron had beaten the good guys.
This gets an easy 9/10 rating, this is a must read!
